Piaggio Group recently locked a deal with the Chinese government, which saw their Aprilia Mana 850 GT motorcycles supplied to Chongqing police.

The fleet of Aprilia Mana bikes, used by the city police, about 30 in all are customised for meeting the service requirements of the authority. These bikes are fitted with an automatic SportGear transmission that is ideal for use in urban areas. It can also be used along with the electronic sequential gear in a setup of seven speeds or as three setting automatic setup that include Rain, Sport and Touring.

Aprilia Mana Bikes Used by Chinese PoliceThese bikes are powered by a twin cylinder, electronic ignition, water cooled 850cc engine that is capable of delivering 76bhp of max power at 8,000rpm.

According to Piaggio, they won the order through their active JV company in China, in which both the Zongshen bike group and Piaggio own a 45% stake. The remaining 10% is owned by the Foshan Municipality in the Guangdong province, where their JV is headquartered.
