Honda is nowadays on the verge of a massive expansion in the country owing to the rising demands of its two-wheelers all across India. 2011 did not fare well for Honda owing to the flash floods that hit Thailand last month. Thailand seems to be the hub of Honda’s electronic components and thus all the industries of Honda present in Thailand were affected. Thus as a result the worldwide productions of Honda were affected and the sales did not fare on their part. Thus the section of Honda motorcycles India was also affected. Honda India decided to increase their production rate and thus have to decided to increase their production rate to 0.6 million units for the second plant that they have opened recently. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter Pvt Ltd commonly known as HMSI will now be rolling out 2.8 million units annually in order to meet up with the increasing demands.

Honda expands its production capacity in order to meet increasing demands

HMSI recently organized a special line-off ceremony for the operations of its second phase of mass productions which will be facilitated from Tapukara Industrial Area in Rajasthan. HMSI is claimed to have shelled out more than 1000 crores in the 2nd plant and thus have increased the productivity rate as well to more than 1.2 million units in a prospective year. Presently Honda is planning to increase the rate of production of three of its two-wheelers namely Activa (110cc), CB Shine (125cc) and CB Twister (110cc) from the second plant that they are bringing up and apart from that the Manesar plant will also be manufacturing surplus units of bikes. Mr. N.K Kattan who heads the sales and marketing portion of HMSI said at a recent conference that the first phase of productions started on July 11, 2011 and the total annual capacity of production was speculated to be 0.6 million units and aim to increase the capacity to 1.2 million units. Thus they now have promised to service all the Active and CB Shine customers faster. HMSI has now stepped into the league of automobile makers applying advanced ergonomics and automation in its automobiles. HMSI has brought in aluminum painting along with casting house in order to augment the operations of the establishment.

The plant is said to become one of the most eco-friendly establishments of Honda in India and will keep the ecosystem into prime consideration. HMSI plans to facilitate waste-water recycling and rain-water utilization. This will help in promoting sustainable development and HMSI plans to reduce energy consumption. Honda plans to maximize the productions and therefore had revealed that a plant will be there in Bangalore as well which will take up an ample amount of the production rate of the corporation. This third plant is said to become fully operational in the starting months of 2013 and HMSI is highly anticipating the production rate to skyrocket so as to meet the oncoming demands as Honda has a stronghold over India which it does not want to lose at any cost.
