Day 01

Arrival Delhi - Mandawa

Warm welcome at the Airport by India World Travel representative and departing for Mandawa. Overnight at the Hotelin Mandawa.

Day 02

Mandawa - Ramgarh - Mehansar - Mandawa

After Breakfast, drive to nearby villages around Mandawa. It is the preferred base for travellers to Shekhawati. Settled in the 18th Century and fortified by the dominant merchant families. It remains a relatively subdued market town, thought the very young, very persistent touts are surprisingly forceful. A small visit to the markets and observance of the amazingly painted Havelis is highly recommended. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03

Mandawa - Bikaner

After breakfast, leaving for Bikaner. Bikaner is a vibrant, dust swirling desert town with a fabulous fort and an energizing outpost feel. Around the full moon in January or very late December Bikaner celebrates its three-day Camel Festival. The ancient city was founded in 1488 by Rao Bika, son of Rao Jodha, Jodhpur’s founder, thought he two Rathore ruling houses later had a serious falling out over who had the right to keep family heirlooms. Day 04

Bikaner - Chandelao

After breakfast deaprt for Chandelao Garh, lunch on the way. Chandelao is a new crossing and you will dive into the spacious beauty of the desert. Chandelao village is very nice and authentic. You will discover rural India in all its authenticity: a walk on foot to the lake which is the meeting place where everyday women come to fetch water in big jars on their heads, men drink their flocks goats or sheep, and children play with objects of wealth.The village consists of mud houses surrounding the fort Chandelao. Its owner has created a cooperative of women weavers in a move to increase the income of the poor families. By direct contact with artisans, you can find nice clothes, shirts, skirts, gifts etc..The dinner Chandeleo be taken on the terrace of the fort with a spectacular view over the village! Day 05

Chandelao - Udaipur

After breakfast drive to Udaipur, which has a romantic setting unmatched in Rajasthan and arguably in all India. Fantastical palaces, temples, havelis and countless narrow, crooked, colorful streets add the human counterpoint to city’s natural charms. Besides shimmering Lake Pichola, with the Ochre and purple ridges of the wooded Aravali Hills streching away in every direction, it was ones tagged as “the most romantic spot of the continent of India” in 1892. It was founded in 1568 by Maharaja Udai Singh II following the final sacking of Chittorgarh by the Mughal Emperor Akbar.Overnight at your Hotel.

Udaipur

Day 07

Udaipur – Chittorgarh – Bijiapur Castle

After breakfast, depart for Bijapur – Via Chittorgarh. The fort of Chittor is the greatest in Rajasthan. It arises from the plains like a huge rock island, nearly 6 km long and surrounded on all sides by 150 ms plus cliffs. Wandering around the plateau on top is like being on an island in the sky, or a gigantic boat, dotted with a collection of Sub limely beautiful stone buildings.Then moving towards Bijaipur, – which is a fantastically set 16th century palace apparently plucked from the whimsy of Udaipur and dropped into a rural retreat. It’s a great place to settle down with a good book, compose a fairy tale fantasy and just laze around. There is a pleasant garden courtyard and an airy restaurant serving Rajasthani food. Pachewar - Jaipur

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur. Jaipur, being Rajasthan’s capital, is an enthralling historical city and the gateways to India’s most flamboyant state. The City’s colorful, chaotic streets ebb and flow with a heavy brew of old and new. It is named after its founder, the great warrior – astronomer Jai Singh II, who came to power at an age 11 after the death of his father, maharaja Bishan Singh.Overnight at your Hotel.

Jaipur

After breakfast, a guided tour to Jaipur. Excursion to Amber Fort with an ascent to the fort on majestic elephant. Visit splendid monuments: The City Palace and Museum, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the « Jantar Mantar » fabulous historic astronomical observatory. Day 11

Jaipur – Fetehpur Sikari – Agra

After breakfast, drive towards Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified ancient city, 40 kms west of Agra,w as the short lived capital of the Mughal empire between 1571 and 1585 during the reign of Emperor Akbar. Lunch on the way and moving towards Agra. Agra – The magical allure of Taj Mahal draws tourists to Agra like moths to a wondrous flame. And despite the hype, its every bit as good as you have heard. The legacy of the Mughal empire has left a magnificent fort and a liberal sprinkling of fascinating tombs and mausoleums. In 1501 Sultan Sikander lodi established his capital here, but the city fell into Mughal hands in 1526, when emperor Babur defeated the last Lodi Sultan at Panipat. Overnight at the Hotel.

Agra - Delhi
