Introduction
Planning a motorcycle holiday in India is exciting, but one question comes up before any route or motorcycle is chosen: how much does a motorcycle tour in India cost?
The answer depends on much more than the advertised package price. Your overall budget is influenced by the destination, the number of riding days, accommodation standards, motorcycle type, group size, and the level of support provided throughout the journey.
For riders travelling from the UK and overseas, guided Royal Enfield tours offer an all-inclusive experience that removes much of the planning involved in riding independently. A guided motorcycle tour in India generally costs several thousand pounds per rider, with the final price depending on the region, tour duration, accommodation and services included.
In this guide, we'll look at what guided motorcycle tours in India actually cost, what's included in the price, where the extra expenses come from and how to work out a realistic budget before
How Much Does a Motorcycle Tour in India Cost?
For a fully guided motorcycle tour India cost, expect to pay somewhere from £3,485 per rider, with premium itineraries exceeding £3,700, depending on the route and season, with pillion rates generally £300–£500 lower.
This is for a fully supported trip, not a basic self-drive motorcycle rental, so the price covers the bike, fuel, guiding, accommodation and backup vehicle rather than just two wheels for the day. International flights are not included in any of these figures.

What Determines the Cost of a Motorcycle Tour in India?
Motorcycle tours India cost varies a fair amount from one operator, route and season to another, and several practical factors explain why.
How long is the tour?
Longer itineraries mean more nights of accommodation, more meals, more fuel, and more days of guide and mechanic time, so a two-week trip naturally costs more than a ten-day one.
Which destination will you visit?
Rajasthan, Ladakh and the Himalayas, South India and Central India all carry different motorcycle tour India packages pricing. Remote, high-altitude routes through the Himalayas often need more logistical support than the more established Rajasthan touring circuit.
What type of accommodation is included?
Packages can include standard hotels, heritage havelis and forts, desert camps or remote homestays. Twin-sharing is the usual base rate, and travellers wanting their own room should expect a single supplement.
How large is the riding group?
Indian Rides runs small groups of two to eight bikes, with guaranteed departures from just two participants. Private or bespoke departures for a smaller party can cost more per person than a scheduled group tour, where costs are shared across more riders.
What level of support is provided?
A guided motorcycle tour India budget typically funds a road captain, local guides, an on-road mechanic, a support vehicle for luggage, and 24/7 assistance if something goes wrong.
What Is Included in Motorcycle Tour Packages in India?
Comparing complete motorcycle tour packages India rather than just the headline figure gives a much clearer picture of value.

What do Rajasthan motorcycle tour packages cost?

The route passes through Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Jaipur and other historic towns, with overnight stays in heritage havelis and palace-style properties.
Days: 16 Days
Price: From £3,495 per rider | £2,995 per pillion

What do Ladakh and Himalayan tours cost?
For riders chasing high-altitude passes, remote valleys and the classic Leh-Ladakh expedition experience, Trans-Himalayan on Royal Enfield is the flagship Himalayan adventure. The itinerary covers some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Indian Himalayas, including mountain passes, monasteries, alpine lakes and the rugged terrain that makes Ladakh one of the world's great motorcycle destinations.

How Much Does a Royal Enfield Motorcycle Tour Cost?
The Royal Enfield tour cost is normally built into the full guided package rather than charged separately, so you're not paying a daily rental fee on top. Indian Rides tours use Royal Enfield motorcycles maintained by an in-house mechanic team, with the model depending on the itinerary and departure. Motorcycle rental is genuinely just one line item within the total price, alongside fuel, servicing, spare parts and mechanical support throughout the ride. This is why comparing a fully guided package against a standalone daily rental figure is misleading; the guided price also buys route planning, guiding, accommodation and backup. Pillion riders pay a lower rate than the rider, since they don't need a separate motorcycle, while room-sharing arrangements keep accommodation costs down for both.
What Additional Costs Should You Budget For?
Before travelling
International flights, an Indian visa, travel insurance and motorcycle-specific cover, plus any vaccinations, medical preparation and personal riding equipment, all sit outside the package price.
During the tour
Budget for meals not included in the itinerary, drinks, tips for the crew, laundry, a local SIM or data pack, souvenirs and any optional excursions offered along the route.
Before or after the tour
Extra hotel nights, an airport stopover, city extensions or additional domestic flights can all add to the total, as can any motorcycle damage charges if they apply.
As a general rule of thumb for working out your guided motorcycle tour India budget, add up: package price + flights + insurance + equipment + personal spending + a small contingency buffer (many travellers budget around 10%) for the unexpected.
Is a Guided Motorcycle Tour Worth the Cost?
This is a matter of personal priorities rather than a fixed answer, so treat it as general guidance rather than a claim about any specific operator. The comparison below reflects common trade-offs riders weigh up when choosing between a guided package and planning independently.
Guided package advantages
Self-organised tour considerations
Pre-planned route and accommodation
Lower apparent upfront cost
Local route knowledge
More planning responsibility
Mechanical and emergency support
Rental deposit and navigation
Luggage transport
Breakdown arrangements
Help with permits and logistics
Accommodation and permits
Time saved during planning
Language and communication challenges
A self-organised trip can look cheaper on paper, but value should be judged on safety, support, convenience and full package inclusions, not just the headline price.
How Can You Choose the Right Package for Your Budget?
Compare the price per riding day, not just the total.
Check rider and pillion rates separately.
Review every inclusion and exclusion line by line.
Confirm the motorcycle model on offer.
Compare room-sharing and single-room costs.
Check the group size for the departure.
Confirm the support vehicle and mechanic are included.
Request a complete written quotation before booking.

Having toured extensively in Europe as a rider and pillion, we were told by our sons to try something outside of our comfort zone. So we decided to try India.
After researching we chose Indian Rides as they specialise in tours of India. The communication with Gopika was clear, helpful and reassuring.
We have just returned from their tour of Rajasthan including the Holi Festival of Colours.
Just got back from an incredible 3-week trip through India with Indian Rides and can’t recommend them enough!
From riding through Rajasthan and exploring amazing cities like Jaipur and Udaipur to seeing the Taj Mahal, every day was unforgettable. The absolute highlight was celebrating Holi – the Festival of Colours – in Mandawa. The atmosphere, colours, music, and local experience made it truly once-in-a-lifetime.
What an experience… genuinely one of those trips that sticks with you long after you’re home. We did the Southern India tour back in 2024 with Indian Rides and that too was absolutely stunning....another trip to add to your bucket list.
From the moment we landed in Delhi and drive over to Mandawa - Rajasthan, everything was dialled in — the organisation, the routes, the bikes, the accommodation — all spot on. But what really makes Indian Rides stand out is the experience beyond the riding - the people.
Traversing India on a Royal Enfield Bullet has been a long held dream of ours (mine and my wife’s). If you have a passion for overseas motorcycle touring, exploring India in this way is such a wonderful adventure and experience.

Another great adventure with Indian Rides. We did the Rhajastan trip in 2016 with Naren and this year have just done the south of India with his brother Shakti. A small group of 7 people in total whom we got on with well. The adventure was over about twelve days and we rode about 1400 kms in all. Total security with a driver in front and another behind along with the mechanic 'doctor Ram'.
Visiting India for the first time, this was an attack on my senses, and riding a bike through it made it ten times better. I went with four close mates, and we all agreed that riding a Royal Enfield is the perfect vehicle to tackle the varied roads we encountered.
Travelling throughout rural India gave us all a fascinating insight into the culture & lifestyle of this developing country. I could write an essay on our experiences, however, for the purposes of this review I'll just mention salient points for anyone considering this holiday.
I went with two friends on the South India Spice Route Tour in October 2023. It was absolutely amazing. I was quite worried about the trip because our destination of Kerala had been severely flooded the previous month. In the end there was nothing to worry about. Narendra, Vinktesh, Dolat and Ram made sure we were always safe having checked the routes out and preparing diversions in case they were needed.
"I have already gone on two incredible journeys with Indian Rides on the back of a Royal Enfield motorcycle, and I can confidently say they are top-notch. The most recent one was a mesmerizing blend of culture and color as we partook in the most vibrant celebration on the planet – Holi in India.

We had a great time riding a classic Royal Enfield motorcycle in Rajasthan and taking part in the Holi Festival! Doing the trip with an Indian company meant that we saw more 'real' India than would have been likely otherwise.
