Lamayuru - Leh

Today morning, gear up for another adventurous motorcycling touring through Himalayas and ride back to Leh.
On the way visit Likir Monastery, built in 1065,  affiliated to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Lama Duwang Chosje.  Likir Gompa gets its name from the word Lukhgil which means ‘coiled snake’ as Buddhists believe the monastery was encircled and guarded by the two great serpent spirits. The monastery is perched on a small hill offering a panoramic view of the Indus river against the mighty Himalayas.



Post breakfast starts another episode of Ladakh Motorcycle Tour with local sightseeing of Leh. Starting with Shanti stupa, the pristine white edifice with golden artwork and Buddhist murals and paintings, the stupa can transport any turmoiled heart to peace.
